UT SpinUp Lab

The SpinUp Wet Lab Incubator at U of T Mississauga provides early-stage biotech and life sciences startups with fully equipped lab space, office areas, and shared equipment. While Canadian universities, especially U of T, drive world-class research, startups often struggle to access affordable lab space and essential equipment to develop IP and attract investment. SpinUp bridges this gap, offering top-tier facilities in a collaborative innovation hub.

Through a partnership with Excedr, SpinUp members can receive one month off their first equipment lease—an average savings of $10,000. This allows startups to access critical lab equipment without high upfront costs, freeing up capital to scale operations, hit key R&D milestones, and extend their runway. By reducing financial barriers and providing cutting-edge resources, SpinUp and Excedr empower biotech startups to focus on innovation, commercialization, and global impact.

SpinUp Members Gain Access To:

• Lab space: Biosafety level 2 wet lab space in UTM's New Science Building at subsidized rates for terms up to two years
• Lab infrastructure: dedicated lab bench unit and fume hood, plus shared life science equipment and infrastructure
